Message:	This book was crazy good. Once I opened the front page I couldn’t put it down until I read it cover to cover. I loved the book because although it was a story of life in the hood it was easy for a girl like me who wasn’t from the hood to relate. The story took me through many emotions and I even cried at the end. The book was the best I’ve read since Flyy girls and I would recommend it people of all ages. Congratulations Shonda I’m so proud of you…Can’t wait to read part 2!

This is a street-level, literary work of art. "A Hood Chick's Story" is a must read for the true urban-intellectual. Regarless of where you gre up, you will see your 'hood in this book. The story is so situational, that at times you will swear you were there when these events unfolded. This book is full of passion, you can actually feel the author'sain and joy at each turn of the page. If you like Eric Jerome Dickey, Omar Tyree and Michael Baisden, you will absolutely LOVE LaShonda Devaughn.

Message:	LaShonda I met you in Roxbury on Saturday and bought A Hood Chicks Story and Was done reading it by Monday it was off the hook very well written and i cannot wait for Part 2 I do hope that Tiara gets a light at the end of the tunnel for her baby's sake please I want to know when 2 is coming

All the people you lost in your life are now your guardian angels (R.I.P Dre & Gary) to direct every path to your success. Although some of your story was fiction it just may be reality to someone else and through your novel you have inspired alot of people to not give up if their family is disfunctional or if they've lost someone or been betrayed. Message:	Girl I don't even know where to start the book was the bomb I teared up a lil, but I managed to finish the book in one day and couldn't put it down. U go girl u keep your head up and stay strong and GOD will see you through this and just know that DRE is so proud of his big sister. Also I will be waiting on part2 to hit the set.
